Apart from the things you can do as an individual to prepare for a flu outbreak, you may need to rely on groups and organizations in your own community for assistance during an outbreak. The collaboration between Faith-Based and Community Organizations and local public health agencies will be a critical link to keeping those who are a part of your communities advised on outbreak efforts. The US Dept. of Health and Human Services federal pandemic flu website provides information that can be of assistance for flu planning, and emergency planning in general. Additionally, HHS provides information on community strategies to delay or reduce the spread of an outbreak.
